2015: "Do better."

So, my 2014 kind of... sucked. I mean, from a goal-oriented point of view.

I had three goals:

1. lose 52 pounds (a pound a week, not unreasonable)
2. spend some time every day organizing and decluttering the house (also not unreasonable)
3. write more FINISHED fics (apparently VASTLY UNREASONABLE!)

I lost 4 pounds, net, spent about five days decluttering and didn't really get anywhere, and wrote 34 complete fics and began 5 BEHEMOTHS!

Seriously, current word counts are:

• On the Matter of Sons (Magnificent Seven): 28,000+
• On the Matter of Fathers (Magnificent Seven): 15,000+
• Whispers (Marvel Cinematic Universe): 44,000+
• Fading in the Light (MCU): 20,000+
• Inexorable Imperative (MCU): 65,000+

So, you know, I'm clearly insane.

This year's goals:

1. lose 52 pounds (a pound a week, not unreasonable—really. I mean it.)
2. spend some time every day organizing and decluttering the house (also not unreasonable. At all. And damn necessary.)
3. Finish at least two of the giant fics by trying to write at least half an hour to an hour every day.

Because, as I said. I'm clearly insane. However, so far I've met my goal for writing time every day (sometimes surpassed it) and worked mostly on the behemoths (I totally didn't work most of last night on a Deaf!Clint fic. Nope.), I'm on track to lose the shock five pounds in the first week I tend to lose when I stop drinking 1000 calories of soda a day, and... well, I haven't even cleaned the house much since we got back from Christmas, but I'll work on that. I promise.

Now... Off to work—you know? That thing that pays for the writing and the food and the decluttering.

I quit soda for the most part and dropped that surprise five pounds the first week. Now the hard part starts, but I've started running from zombies again, so hopefully that'll work.

Which just reminds me that I also started an epic Mag 7 zombie fic last year—and I have a Pacific Rim/Mag 7 crossover languishing...

Damn Marvel. Suck me in and pull me away from the rest of my lovelies...

Great! Lessee (as I sit here drinking a Mt. Dew and sucking on Hershey's Kisses) giving up soda would be an excellent start for me, too, and I need to leave the various candy buckets around the office alone. (I'm not giving up ice cream, though, that would be insane.) There's no zombies around here but I'm saving up for a stationary bike and I'll flail around the apt until I get it. My nutrition, at least, is good. My healthy smoothie regimen is easy to keep up, I love those things. Even with spinach in.

Marvel WILL eat your soul, I still can't believe I've written only the one story and it didn't star Loki. Mind is blown. I'm concentrating on the original stuff at last because I'm so sick of being broke. Geeeeez.

But we can do it!
