January Fics
The Mistake Series (Magnificent Seven ATF): Chris/Vin and Ezra. There are mistakes, and then there are mistakes. When Chris Larabee makes one of the latter, two of his agents pay the price. Will his actions destroy the Magnificent Seven, or will he leave before that happens?
The Job (I Spy [original series]): This is when the job sucks more than anything they tell you to expect. Every agent knows he could catch a bullet some day, but no one tells you how much worse it is when you don’t.
Young Mister Ryan and His Uncover Cousin (Magnificent Seven ATF/Castle crossover series): A series of stories where Kevin Ryan of the NYPD and Ezra Standish of the FBI and ATF are cousins who support and look out for each other. The first few stories went out in January...
- A Long Story: Kevin didn’t forget time zones. And he never forgot Ezra’s schedule. The only time in recent history Kevin had cold called him in the middle of the night, the cop had spent an evening being drowned in a vat of ice water… Something had happened. (takes place after the Castle episode "Under Fire.")
- For a Second There: Ignoring the shaking of every limb, Kevin hauled himself to his feet. He could do this. He wasn’t even really hurt, right? Just some residual chills. He was fine. He could do this. (Takes place after Castle season three episode "Knockdown".)
- Family, Huh? Four months ago, twenty-five-year-old narcotics officer Kevin Ryan had given his mother a kiss on the cheek and boarded a ferry to Staten Island. Kevin Ryan never got off that ferry, just as Fenton O’Connell never got on.
- Padding the Nest: Ezra had never gotten along with his own team more than superficially, for the most part, but this new crew was something else entirely. It was led by a middling bureaucrat named Bartlett, who had little interest in the interpersonal skills of his agents, and the active branch of it was a trio of men who seemed a little too zealous when it came to force. They didn’t need an outsider coming in, they averred. And, once they were told they had to lump it and take him, they were anything but sanguine about it.
The Stuff of Legends (MCU—Deaf!Clint AU): So... No Nat to the rescue. No Iron Man. Just one deaf superhero without bow or gun. The stuff of legends, right? Or, Clint Barton don't need no hearing aids to kick ass.
February (Not a lot posted this month, because I'm writing the EPICS OF EPICS!)
Follow the Trail (part of the Young Mister Ryan series): The agent’s blunt statement was absurd enough that Kevin laughed involuntarily. “Ezra? Are you serious?” He shook his head at their stony faces. “I still don’t know who Eric Stabler is, but Ezra wouldn’t steal—especially not from his own investigation.” His stomach dropped suddenly as he replayed Young’s words: your cousin made off… "Where is Ezra?"
Two Rubes in the Fountain (The Losers): Roque is still glaring at me and I know he’s not seeing the bright side here. What he’s seeing is two days in a holding cell because the courts and bail-bondsmen are closed for Christmas and he’s too damned candy-assed to call one of the other Losers to bail us out.
On the Mag 7 front, I have a Superhero Old West AU story in progress, a Zombie Old West AU series in progress, and more of Young Mister Ryan to come.
Anyway, here's the card!
