Help!

Okay, so I have this bingo card, right? For [community profile] hc_bingo ? And I got dub-con, which I should have asked to not to have because I don't really understand the difference between dub con and rape and I don't think I could write a rape scene these days.

What's the difference? To me a powerplay of a boss pressuring an underling is rape. A captive seduced by his or her captor is also rape.

What's dubcon?

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but in case you haven't already seen it, here's Fanlore's definition. Not non-con/rape, but a reluctance in whatever capacity.

I always think of dubcon as where the reader isn't sure if there is consent or not -- like if the two are consenting to have a scene where one forces the other, so that during the scene there isn't explicit consent but before and after, even if it's "off-screen" the forced one clearly was okay with it.

Kind of like a dom pushing a sub past their boundaries, or establishing control, or utilising punishment -- the sub might not want it, but they want to be dominated, so they take it because the little thing they don't want is part of a bigger thing they do.
